A challenging alteration and additions to a very narrow Victorian terrace took place to transform this otherwise dark and damp back yard into a functional family and entertainment area.
Adding a double storey loft and garage to the rear of the site accessed by the original bluestone lane, it was important to connect this space to the existing dwelling as achieved by a long stretching glass openable walkway.
Bringing the outside in, this made the best use of the available 4.4m width whilst according to councils Heritage policy and paying homage to the intact façade and streetscape.
